Ahead of the Shimabara Gamadasu Soccer League game between Avispa Fukuoka and Oita Trinita, a welcome party was held for the teams and representatives of the Nagasaki Football Federation and other local organizations on 23 February.
The new soccer design Ecoflag was flown on stage next to the FIFA's Fair Play flag. Oita Trinita already flies the flag, but the team members of Avispa Fukuoka, Sagan Tosu, V. Varen Nagasaki and Fukuoka University also took a keen interest.
At the match the following day, children brought out the two flags as they led the players onto the pitch.
