GSA USA was established as a non profit organization in the United States in 2006. In recognition of this the Pacific Forum in Hawaii was held with the assistance of GSA Honolulu Team Captain, Kazuki Kudo.
The event featured a meeting of 70 members including GSA Navigator Masaaki Mori, Masako Unoura, GSA Corporate sponsors Global Insurance Group and Seia Co., Ltd. and the former Mayor of Hawaii.
GSA Executive Director, Tatsuo Okada reported on GSA's activities, including the Global Forum for Sport and Environment 2005 and G-ForSE 2006, and Tom Pochereva of the Hawaii Yacht Racing Association outlined GSA Hawaii's activities.
A charity auction was held at the event featuring RECYCL'art made from sports equipment donated from athletes such as pro golfers Shigeki Maruyama and Ai Miyazato. Proceeds from the event will go towards promoting the Ecoflag Movement and funding GSA USA activities.
The establishment of GSA USA is an important step in GSA's growth and we look forward to setting more teams and regional centers around the world.
