Tennis Day was celebrated again this year at 'Ariake Tennis no Mori' in Tokyo's Edo Ward on 23 September, and GSA was there to collect old or unused tennis balls and rackets. Between 9am and 4pm, 5,700 tennis balls and 54 rackets we collected.
The tennis balls were inspected, boxed and shipped on site to schools around Japan that had requested them. Most of the tennis rackets will be shipped to developing countries, while remainder will be resold in Japan to help cover the shipping costs.
Many thanks to all those that contributed to the event.
