GSA Kusatsu Established

The latest GSA team has been established in the famous Gunma hot spring town of Kusatsu. The 20th team established in Japan, and the 43rd worldwide, GSA Kusatsu will be run under the direction of team captain, Shuichi Iwai.

GSA Supporter, Kenichi Hagiwara, who hails from the area, was the first to fly the Ecoflag at an event in Kusatsu, since which time GSA and Kusatsu have been cooperating on events, as well as orchestrating the participation of three-time Tour de France winner and GSA navigator, Greg LeMond in the Tour de Kusatsu.

It was through the Perimeter Bicycling Association of America (PBAA) that Greg first became involved with GSA and the PBAA and Kusatsu have also developed close ties, with Kenichi Hagiwara and others from the town taking part in the PBAA run El Tour de Tucson last year.

GSA Kusatsu plans to fly the Ecoflag at the Tour de Kusatsu and other local events as well as strengthen ties with international cycling organizations.
