GSA took the Prize for Excellence at the NPO Fair 2005 (sponsored by Tokyo JC), which took place on 15 October at the Science Museum in Chiyoda ward, Tokyo. The event was developed with the aim of providing greater recognition to active NPOs with a far-reaching vision and to promote grassroots participation in such activities.
Tokyo JC President Taketoshi Nishimura presented the prize to GSA representatives Chihiro Miura and Tadashi Kuramoto.
Commenting on the reason for awarding the prize, Director Nishimura remarked, "It was the development of the Arai ski resort that led to the birth of GSA and a drive to initiate positive environmental action through sport and the development of a network throughout the sports community."
GSA Extends its thanks and appreciation to all its individual and corporate members, navigators, volunteers partners and the global network of GSA Teams for their support, without which this prize would not be possible.
