GSA Delivers Report to Nippon Taiiku Gakkai

Katsuya Otsu is a GSA staff member and lecturers at Tokai University, and he attended the 55th Meeting of the Nippon Taiiku Gakkai (an organization doing research into physical education) at Shinshu University in Nagano prefecture.

With the United Nations declaring 2005 the ?nternational Year of Sport and Physical EducationĚ sports is becoming increasingly associated with social and sustainable development, and the sports world is increasingly being asked to take an active part. Through the Ecoflag Movement, GSA is working with international partners to ensure that sports plays an active part in protecting our natural environment.
The attendees were interested to learn about GSA and the Ecoflag Movement. Among its various functions, the meeting addresses the cultural, social and environmental heritage left by the Nagano Olympics.
