G-ForSE 2006 will be held at the Olympic Museum in Lausanne, Switzerland, on 30 November and 1 December 2006. One hundred and fifty participants are expected to attend the Forum which will focus on “mainstreaming the environment in major sports events”.
G-ForSE 2006 participants will review efforts by sport organizations to mainstream the environment in their events. The participants will use experiences of recent sport events — the Helsinki IAAF World Championships, the Turin 2006 Olympic Winter Games and the 2006 FIFA World Cup – as the basis for discussions. Based on the presentations and discussions, the participants will make recommendations on how to further improve and integrate environmental considerations in major sport events.
